Default Stuffing a 429

Hello, I have a 66' mustang. Two nights ago I bought a DOVE-A 429 complete with DOVE-C and D3VE-A2A heads for $100 bucks from a guy at work. Anyway, how in the heck do I stuff that into my little engine compartment? I know I will have to remove the shock towers but not sure how to securely mount it. I know how to do metal fabrication and welding, that's not the problem. My biggest fear is having the body twist. Also how can I stiffing the body up so I can really use this motor? Thanks to all that respond.

The car was'nt made for anything bigger than a 351 windsor.you might need to replace the steering to something made for a 429, but you need to add subframe connectors, its a good thing I did mine but still have the 289 HI-Po in my 65FSTBK

If you want to actually enjoy driving it, as in, turning a corner from time to time, don't do it. It'll handle like a pig doing anything but straight line drag racing. Now, for THAT, it'll rock! Oh, put in good spark plugs. You'll never see them again once it's in the car.

Only way is cut out the shock towers and weld in a mustang 2 kit.Its great for a drag car but a street car i wouldn't try.Since you got the engine cheap resell it on craigslist use what you make off it to build up a stroker 302 or 351w for it.

With major suspension mods, steering mods, and brake mods, i would say probably. But the risk it up to you.

Um, yeah, going from a 460 pound 289 to a 720 pound 429 will call for major shock-tower-slicing surgery and front suspension changes in a 64-66 Mustang.

Thanks guys, I have an 87 5.0 engine on the stand right now. I was planning on stroking it to a 347 until I found the 429. I may just keep it until I find something else to put it in. My dream is a fastback but I can't seem to find even a junker for a decent price. Weird

ya if you got the 429 just for power....save it for something else. the 5.0's have so much potential and mods that it's hard to not find mods/help/etc to get what you want with a 5.0

I'd agree with everyone else. id love a 429 in my car to but the work required in installing a mustang 2 front end, messing with the shock towers, and still messing with the weight bias is too much. tho i am wondering who sold you all that for $100?
