Well I don't know what to do. I have a 351 clevor in the machine shop, need to pick pistons. I was planning to go supercharged and can get 8.6 to 1 forged pistons with my heads. Or stay natural and go 10.7 to 1 and change the cam. I don't think its going to be easy to fit a blower, unless I do a 174 weiand or a kennebell ( I have windsor GT40 intake on cleveland heads). How are the 2v heads for boost. What kind of power can I get from a all forged 10.7 to 1 clevor naturally aspired? Please give me some input, Thanks guys

supercharger is a lot of money ... so i guess it's eitehr stockish with supercharger or modified without it.
what bottom end is in that engine? any details about crank or modification? what gearbox behind that engine (or what is planned) as well as rear?

a supercharged cleveland is more than likely to rip the rear apart if it's stock

I have a 9" with 3.89 posi, the gearbox is going to be a tremec or a t-56. The block is a 351 windsor .030 over with a 1010 hardened crank, eagle rods, main girddle, etc.

What kind of money do you want to spend? What heads do you have? 2v? 4v? Do you want low rpm torque or a lathargic motor below 2500 rpm with horsepower in the higher rpms? Before you start any project you should decide exactly what you want because to often people start to build a street/strip car and end up with a beast that barely idles, gets 7 miles to the gallon and really should be trailered to the track. I know I've done it and hated drivin my car on the street. Decide now what the purpose of the car will be before you spend any money.

he's got the 2V heads. but ya that's some info we need to know as well, what are you planning to achive? torque/HP, street driven? how much money are you willing to spend? fram how I understand it it's a 351M. right?

Are those pistons your only options? If you could split the difference - say 9.7-10:1 - you could go either way (within reason - you won't be able to run 20# boost on that motor).

Yes, decide what you want in the long run before you build. I built my car for NA with the idea that I'd go centrifugul blower, so I went 10.5:1. I was able to run a roots/Eaton blower but had to make some 'adjustments'. Had I known I was going where I ended up, I'd have gone with lower compression. Changing one's mind in this game gets expensive, and boost is good. :icon_lol: (So is factory driveability, good mileage, and a little bit of stealth.)

Well boys, I'm looking for a bad ass car. One that will put you in your seat till I ease off the pedal. It's a 351 windsor, with 351 clevland 2V heads and plates to run a windsor intake. I don't really care for gas mileage as i'm only driving it for fun or to release some stress and anger. I'm very limited to pistons as there is only one company out that has pistons for a clevor. (dont want to have custom one made) As far as money, well the motor is gonna cost me prob 1500-2000 to complete, blower is 3-4000, and tranny is about 2 grand. then the misc ****, lets say 1-2000 tops. This is what I accounted for, thats what I figure for now. Ozark I agree booost is good. As far as hp/torque numbers, i'll be happy with what that should make. hopefully 500ish

I say a custom cam and 10ish:1 compression, and forget the blower due to cost. You could always add nitrous later since it works well with higher compression.
