Default Will a 1970 dash harness work in a 1969 Model?

Been looking to see if I can find the answer as to whether a 1970 Mustang dash harness will work in a 1969 and haven't had much luck? We have a 69 Mach 1 that is currently in restoration and was missing the dash harness when we purchased it. I located a complete harness out of a 1970 Mustang but don't want to purchase it without verifying if it will work. I'm not real knowledgeable on the 69-70 cars as this is the first one we purchased. When it comes to the 65-66 model I can tell you about anything you want to know so please inform me on the 69-70's.

I would bet that they are different, although I can't think of a good reason why.

I would bet they are different enough not to use. Everything seems different from 69 to 70. Does painless wiring have one or a Mustang parts place like CJ pony parts?

The above indicate 1969 only, so the answer must be no.

One for sure difference is in the ignition circuitry. The 1969 ignition is on the dash, whereas the 1970 is on the column. As was stated earlier, there are a couple of options available, as to tach dash cars. In the long run, you will be better off purchasing a harness designed for your car. I would certainly be hesitant about installing some aftermarket system that is not designed specifically like the original. Painless Wiring, for instance, makes really good wiring products, but they often are not specific to any one car. I would use them in a street rod or race car application but not on a daily driver type project. I want something that follows original Mustang wiring diagrams as to color codes and connectors.
Best,
Al

If the harness you found was a factory one from 1970 i would be scared of wires that old.Wires get brittle with age i had a engine bay fire on a old car i had because of that years ago ever since i rewired everything old i have own.

im in arizona and my 70 is outside all year. ive had the complete dash out twice, once to do the heater core and second time to do the blower motor, my wiring harness looks great, no brittle wires, no breaks, no problems.
