A woman's project: 68 Fastback

Full quarter panels
I am doing a restoration on a 67 Fastback that was hit hard in the rear. I have to replace the full quarter panels and I'm having trouble. I removed the old metal completely and now want to fit it first before welding anything. The outer wheel houses are still just clamped in place and I can't get the panel to go in place. How did you get them in place, trim off metal, bend it some how, or what?

A couple of things. What did you coat the under the quarter panel with? I am doing the same thing with my 67 Fastback. I have a good fit at the door jambs and the panel between the trunk lid and the rear glass. But I find the quarters are too narrow at the back end of the trunk by 3/4". I am not sure how I am going to widen the quarters out. It appears you did not have this problem. What are you going to do at the old lead joint area?

I run something very similar...I cant be for sure but I think they could have been taylor....If not then I dont see them listed by that company any more.
They are awesome they hold the wire well and allow for very clean setups.
These happen to be red and for 10.mm wire.

In September, we were contacted by Summit Racing to use our car for the March/April feature in the catalog as well as do a story on our build. It was a great experience. Here is the link to the article:
