Default 68 Coupe... good buy?

Hey everyone. I sold my supercharged 02 back in October with the plan to buy a classic mustang to "tinker" with when I have time. I have come across some really poor conditioned mustangs. However, I am checking out a car tonight and wanted everyone's opinions. I have never owned a classic car, let alone a Mustang

68 Coupe
Staight 6
Perfect interior
little to know rust, only surface in trunk
Runs!
Only wants roughly $2,000.

Is this a good car to get if I want to eventually put a 302 or 351 (obviously upgrade the suspension and rear). My goal is not to "restore" to the original. It would to modify ot and bring it up to modern times.

Any thoughts would help!
