Default 1967 (any old) Mustang Electrical Clicking (Short?)

I have an all original inline 6 with standard tranny. I recently discovered my battery completely dead with no warning. When I replaced it my pos terminal sparked more than usual and my volt meter started clicking (twitching) intermittently. My horn also appears to have been victimized by this event. The car starts and runs but I fear the twitch will ruin another battery or something else if I keep the battery hooked up. I replaced the solenoid but nothing changed. Where do I look next?

This is sort of a shot in the dark. I don't know everthing about auto electronics.

-have the alternator checked at your local auto parts store
-pull fuses one at a time to locate what circuit the problem is on, then check each electrical pathway on that circuit

You can also unplug wiring terminal plugs to narrow it down. Like the one to steering column, etc.

Check your battery spark before and after each plug unplugged.

My guess is that your voltage regulator has taken a dump.

Just a shot in the dark, but probably the most LIKELY issue.

Thanks for the tips, everyone. I will free up some time this weekend to start and hopefully finish the hunt. My fuse box looks like it shouldn't be functioning at all, but since it does (so far) I haven't touched it. I hope to include some pictures just for laughs. I feel guilty because I haven't driven it in three weeks. Mobility is my car's strongest feature since it needs some serious cosmetic attention.
