I have a custom auto sound and yes...it's overpriced and under developed. However it gets the job done and looks great.

Pros:
great looks
You don't need to reach into your glovebox or play with a remote just to turn up the music

Cons:
Crappy sound quality compared to similar priced aftermarket head units
Crap reception
Can sound nice with a nice 4channel amp=even more money
High price

I paid $100.. well worth the money for the modern controls/classic look. Wouldnt have paid "new" price for it but as far as durability is concerned it has lasted with no issues. I have actually thought about putting a newer headunit in but I dont want to spend the money on something I dont actually need at this time.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to defend them. To each his own they do have there benifits and so does the standard DIN.

In the end I'd rather have actual controls at my fingertips. Since these cars have the acoustics of a bathtub it's not like your going to be winning any sound quality competitions anyway.

I'd rather listen to the engine anyway.

A 67-73 is easy to put a din in they make bezels for it or cut the stock one.A 64-66 sucks you cut the dash or don't if i had one i would have cut the dash.I had a 70 gmc pickup i cut the dash for a din and got cussed out by a old guy at a car show over it lol.I drive a hour each way to work gotta have a good radio in easy reach.
