so it drives way better now yeah?

mikenkiki05 12-12-2010 09:34 PM

uppers are next on the line up i found some bad stuff

here is what i found with the uppers the boots are bad on the rod so will not hold any grease
and the lower mount for the shock is shot so that will all get replaced at the same time
http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._4169179_n.jpg

right side is worse but i ran out of battery on the camera to shoot it

mikenkiki05 12-12-2010 09:37 PM

yes way better alot tighter steering also we found some more stuff to replace with the uppers they looked new from a lift but after taking pics of everything they need replaced too it wasnt to bad took me and wife 1 hour to replace both sides and had it back on the ground, some of the problem with the loose wheel the ball joint on left side was bad, no bolts was tight at all for the front biscuit bar? that bolts to a arm loose as a goose

if your gonna replace the spring perches id go with roller ones...i plan on tearing my cars front end down soon to do the arning drop and want to put the roller perches in place

Gun Jam 12-12-2010 10:34 PM

Yeah I suspected such a presentation from the uppers...But hey now that gives your the opprtunity to get roller perches, Do the Shelby drop and spend 700 bucks on a pair of tubular construction global west negative roll uppers!!!

mikenkiki05 12-12-2010 10:58 PM

yeah i love the look of the roller perches :) we will see what wife wants on it shes kinda letting me roll with it since she trusts my judgement :)

and gunjam if im not mistaken in my other thread you said if lowers was bad better check the uppers even if they look new so we took you advice

how bad is it to go thru a full tube of grease for 2 lowers both uppers and both tie rods, no wonder everything is shot the only thing that had grease in it was the idler arm

oh and found out the right tie rod is shot also very very loose when you twist it front to back

mikenkiki05 12-12-2010 11:02 PM

it did kinda scare us tho when we set it back down it sat 3 inches higher then it did before we changed it, i took it for a spin for a few mins and came back and it was normal again, i told my wife everything is newly greased and was most likely ceised up from lack of grease lol it was a shock to the parts to have lubercation

its quite common for suspension to ride high for a few miles after its been messed with as it must settle back down into its natural stance.
