Universal Wheels / Rims - Love 'em or Leave 'em?
So while looking for some 5 lug wheels / rims (what ever you wanna call 'em) for my 68 coupe on Craigslist I came across some that were "universal". Judging from the ads they claim to fit Fords, Chevy's, Mopar, etc... the holes seem oblong so I wonder if that would cause wobble or not a perfect fit when mounted. Should I get them, or should i stay away from them?

Point taken, thank you, that seems to be the consensus on other forums as well.

I have a set, I bought them brand new from Summit last year. Like the rest of the car, I knew nothing of what I was purchasing. Mine are for two or three different bolt paterns and it just so happens that my bolt pattern matches in the middle of the "oval". They'll give you some gay washers that you have to line up, that you'll never be able to line up. The washers will get loose and cause the bolts to strip on you and la la la....they suck.
Get the your bolt pattern measurement and stick to that size only. The universal rims that you might be getting, might be a good deal because those guys know that they're not good. Just like when I try to sell mine a few months down the road (when I save up some more loot to buy new ones), I know not to expect top dollar but rather some teenager on a budget that just needs four rims.
