bump for Tilley. I also want to know the experience yall have had with pony carbs is it truly worth it? Or do I rebuild my original 1100 or get a new rebuilt one at the cheap auto stores?
If the throttle shaft isn't worn, no needles are broken off in their seats, and everything still moved, I'd rebuild the one you have. 1bbl carbs are extremely easy to rebuild.
Please give me more than statements because comparing articles by Mustang Monthly with photo's as opposed to your statements, I must cry "bullsheet" on you...who do I believe, you or my lying eyes?
Tilley, my profuse apologies. At first glance the dist you first showed looked like it had a centrifugal unit-I just looked at the springs. Wasn't trying to BS ya- Just trying to save ya some headaches. Your new carb should work fine.

Thank you Vern.
Is there anything you can tell me about the "vent actuating lever" or the "vent valve rod?" The carb I'm running on my car now does not have these. The new carb I bought, like the Pony Carb Autolite 1100 pictured above, does have them. Are both these carbs made for a 1965 Mustang with an I6 200ci motor. Is it better to have the vent valve rod, or better off without it?
What does the vent actuating lever and vent valve rod do?
Thanks again Vern for any advice or knowledge you can share.
