Default 65 Mustang bracket location on transition panel questions.

So I have some time to clean up my brackets and get the locations marked up etc.. and I was looking at a picture 2+2GT posted of a 66 that shows the brake line bracket placed perfectly in the dimpled area in the transition pan.

Here is the image. (I hope my car looks 1/2 this good underneath when Im done)

Now, on mine that bracket is located here, in what looks like a stamped area just for it,

If I copy the location (and rotation) in the first pic will that mess up my plans to order a new pre-bent brake line for a 65? Should I plan on buying the brake line kit for a dual exhaust car to get everything to fit or will a standard line kit still line up properly etc..? Now that I think about it I think need to find that bracket if I am going to use that set up because mine is just a flat piece bent with a goofy angle to it.

What to do what to do...?

The dual bracket can be found at Glazier/Nolan, p/n G03358.

OK, I was about to pull the trigger on the GT exhaust kit 2+2 endorsed on another thread, but my brake line does not attach like that one, it is right next to the driveshaft tunnel. So I guess I have to get the bracket too .......... Otherwise, I'll never get the exhaust through. After looking at it now, I don't see any other way.

Did they actually mount the bracket in different places for different models????

All 64-66 single exhaust mounts inboard, near the driveshaft, all 64-66 dual exhaust mounts outboard, near the frame rail. The hose was completely different between the two.

Yeah, I got the right hoses for duals, just didn't understand that the hard lines were different when I installed the new lines.

I'm sure I can put in a short piece to bridge from the stock location to where I'll have to mount the new one, which is not ideal, but I don't think I'll be running all new lines again.

I wonder what benefit in the assembly process or cost there could have been for the difference, seems they could have used the location for the duals on both with no difference ....

So overall the routing is the same on the hard line except for the last bit?

Does anyone have a drawing of the dual exhaust brake line routing?

No benefit. It was a mistake. Starting in 67, single, dual, and 6 cylinder cars had the same hose, similar to the 64-66 dual hose.

The 64-66 Mustang was designed as a single exhaust car. The standard brake hose is an example. Another is the way the gas tank is offset to the left, to provide plenty of clearance for the RH mounted tailpipe. This leaves very little space for the LH tailpipe on dual exhaust cars. Then there's the standard vs 289HP clutch equalizer.
