so i've been looking for a good restoration shop here to do all of the body work and paint. anyone know of one in CT they'd recommend? i've only got two recommendations right now, one of which can't take the car till this winter. and the other is exceptionally expensive (i was warned lol). Oh and an update, i visited a guy parting out a 66 a short while back and got some of my body parts/gas tank etc. but he had one item which i couldnt identify as it doesnt seem to be on my car. for 5 bucks i couldn't resist. who can name this part?

Looks like a center cap for a Grant steering wheel. Don't use it.

You have your work cut out for you, but the results will be one of the most outstanding Mustangs ever made.

im with 2+2, thats a horn button from a grant steering wheel, i put the same wheel in my dad's bronco, why he wanted a mustang wheel in a bronco i have no idea, i ended up covering the pony up with some electrical tape when i drove the bronco in highschool

Kirk, that's the stock 65/66 Mustang console for a car w/o Air. They can also be cut down to fit an AC car. The Convertible base was unique to fit the tunnel. You can still find good originals or go the aftermarket route.

interesting, i don't have air but i don't have that piece either. given the carpet shows no signs of a missing console i may have to start snooping around for an A/C unit
oh and yesterday i totally stripped the interior, piectures to come soon

here's the update, as promised. the interior to these is really not all that difficult to take apart. did i mention i jumped it and the roof works? lol i should replace the pistons though, they look a bit rusty on the inner cylinder
