Getting brake line on T connector off back axle

I have spent hours now trying to get one of the brake lines bolted into the T connector on the back axle. It will start to screw on and then go nowhere.

Does that connector come off (I don't see a bolt holding it onto the axle)?

Any other ideas?

It is a 66 coupe if it matters.

That connector is held on by the vent nipple, its threaded. The block and the hose going to the car are one piece and not super expensive.

I was already looking at picking this up since my vent hose is broken.

but I don't see the connector as part of this kit.

when you say it is held on by the "vent nipple" where is that and how does it come off.

do I pull out the top part, the actual vent from the axle? Is that some how holding the whole thing onto the axle?

There is a vent line that is clamped to the block. Unclamp that and you will find a nipple that you can get loose with a 9/16ths wrench. That will allow you to remove the block from the axle to get the brake line started.
