For the same reason people keep saying small block and big block in relation to fords in general because they heard somebody else say it. Big block and small block has always been a GM sales gimmick. Ford never used those terms. Ford has always gone by engine family. Windsor, FE, Y-block, MEL, 335, 385. A 351 cleveland is a 335 series engine, a 351 windsor is a windsor series.

ETA: Can anybody actually define the requirments to be a big block or a small block. The answer is no because it was all a sales gimmick for GM salesmen to use.

To clarify my previous post of oiling issues...after 5000 the cable train supply lessens so putting in a high volume pump our a restructure kit solves this issue fast. Either way you go...enjoy the ride...cuz bow ties are for geeks!
