Best Oil with Zinc for solid lifter Cam 331 Stroker

Default Best Oil with Zinc for solid lifter Cam 331 Stroker

Just wondering about some info on the best oil to switch over too for my new 331 stroker. i have a decent size solid lift cam and i now have 200 miles on my engine that has Joe Gibb Break in oil in it right now. time too switch.

or get some zddp additive and use any kind of oil you want.

I use Valvoline VR-1 10W-30 in mine. Good quality oil with plenty of zinc. The 10W-30 flavor is a little harder to find, but I know you can get it from any O'Reilly's (part # VAL RACE10-30, if the counter person has no idea).

There is a new one out from amsoil they call it z-rod its a zinc oil.

i use VR1 as well. but we have a shelf full of ZDDP additive. you can always your Hoe Gibbs hotrod oil, that has plenty of zinc/phosphour as well

was told by my engine builder to run Joe Gibbs racing oil ($189.00 a case). hate too spend that much on oil unless i have too. was doing a little research and read some good things about Brad Penn racing oil. $50 a case.

Amsoil Z-Rod or Dominator, Torco, Joe Gibbs, Brad Penn etc.

I just changed the oil in my truck with the z rod it seems to run a little smoother maybe its just me tho.
