how do u remove hard coolant lines
 

sounds simple but its turning out to be a pain in my a$$.

how do you remove the hard coolant lines that run over the lower intake and into it. i cant seem to loosen the line that runs into the front of the intake.

keep in mine i have my upper intake off, i did not remove the distributor, so its a really tight place to get into.

is there a soft line leading into that point that you can disconnect and turn the whole thing?

if not, you should be able to put one wrench on the brass fitting and one wrench on the "line end" itself. Hold the line end still and loosen the brass fitting until the piece comes out. Dunno though. I'm not positive but it makes sense to me.

there is no flex line. i was hoping for that too and use the leverage of the piece to turn it. but no luck.

the problem is i cant get any wrenches in there. and if i do. i cant get any real strength and force behind it.

well you could always remove your distributor to get better access. Of course you would have to re-time your engine. Otherwise you could get some crowfeet.

Whichever route you go, hitting the brass fitting with a torch really quick might help loosen it up. Be careful of the line-end though, don't want to melt anything.

A torch and a crowfoot wrench should do the trick:)

ok ill try those ideas.

ok so i picked up a set of crowfeet and the largest size 3/4 doesnt fit. any idea what size i need. i havnt looked at it in a while and im not sure. thanks

Cut the side out of an old socket and see if that will work for you. I have no idea what size it is. 6 point impact socket would work the best.
