After reading a little bit about the differences between leaded and unleaded gasoline, I am curious as to how many people use a lead additive? Is it really necessary to use one?
I have heard it is not necessary unless you are driving your car alot. That said it is not needed at all if you have updated cylinder heads. The only reason you need it is if you have the original iron top (like mine does). I drive a decent amount so I add a bottle of Gunk Lead substitute to protect my valves and my 302 purrs. for $3.99 more each fill up I see it as cheap insurance.
Could be a great excuse to upgrade your cylinder heads but if you do the math it doesnt work out....but who cares.
