Default How to remove strut bar from lower control arm

Just ordered all new suspension parts for Christmas. Replacing front end with stock parts. New upper and lower control arms, inner and outter tie rods, shocks and bushings.

Going through the motions and watching some on-line vids.

Looks like the strut rod will have to be removed from the lower control arm, but mine are riveted in vs. bolted. What's the technique for removing these rivets and going to bolts? X pattern with a grinder on top of the rivet then pound them out?

Grind them down and pound them out or use an air chisel and pop the head off then pop it out.

Riveted, really? I would love to see some pictures. I have done a ton of these front ends and I have yet to see a strut rod riveted to the A arm. Not saying I don't believe you I just want to see.

Or you can drill the rivet heads or upset heads (flattened side) off and then drift punch the remainder out.

I'm a little lazy to go take a pic right now... but oh, they are riveted on there real good. The upper ball joint is also riveted on there. It's just quicker to replace the whole upper and lower control arms then drill them out and replace it with a bolt on style.
