66 Mustang Questions

I have a 66 Mustang and I had the car rewired. I ordered an American Autowire kit to do the car and it has a dome light wire, but I have no dome light. Was this just an option in 66 or did someone cover it over when they redid my headliner (it looks like they redid it, but not sure)? I also have a carb question. I have a 68 200 I6 engine in my car and the replacement Holley 1940 on it. The choke has been plugged though and I'm wondering why this might be something that was done? Doesn't seem to make sense to me anyone have any ideas?

iirc the fastbacks were wired for a dome light. they didnt have one either....they probably only make one harness for coupe and fastback so youd end up with an extra wire in your coupe....you can easily add a dome light if you want by running a wire to the roof and mounting a light from a 67-68 car

No 64-66 Mustang had a dome light. Just another reason I prefer OEM style wiring harness.

Would have been nice to get on OEM one, but I'm adding on a lot of extras to the car like AC, gear vendors, cruise control, radio, etc, and wanted the ability to add all that. Do the OEM ones have that capability? Which ones do you recommend?

A oem one is only good if you leave the car stockish,If you want to add a ton of stuff a aftermarket one is wired for everything you could want. And pass on the gear vendors for the price you can do a aod or t5 swap and not have a controller you have to shift.

i used a summit harness and the dome light is what i had to use to wire the lights under the dash via the door switches that turn on the lights when u open the doors. Does yours have 2 separate wires one for a dome and one for the under dash lights. Either way i would add both under dash and dome light which is what i did much nicer at night.
