Default Torque on bearing nut

Im going to be checking my front wheel bearings and want to know what the procedure is on the tightening. I remember something like tightening till it stops then backing it of 1.4 turn?

Let me know. thanks.

Good tips in the article. I've been using the torque method for the last 10 years or so and have yet to have a bearing failure.
FYI-We torque the wheel bearings on wide body commercial jets to 250 ft-lbs.
