Default instrument cluster wiring harness

I have a rat's nest of wiring behind my gauge cluster that I wired in. I ended up ditching the stock cluster for a bunch of aftermarket gauges and I'd like to get a wiring harness to clean everything up in there.

I need one that supports a tach and I'm having trouble finding one, preferrably that uses the standard connectors. Anyone have any ideas? CJponyparts has one for a 68, would this work for my 70?

Not a chance. The cluster changed to a circuitboard in 1969. If you have a "wired in" cluster in your 70, you have no choice but to make a harness for it. Of course, if you use the factory plug, and wrap the new harness with harness tape (NOT electrical tape!!!) it'll look and work like factory.

I made the cluster myself. It's basically a set of aftermarket gauges that I wired in independently, although I used some of the switched 12v wires from the factory connector.

If I buy a whole new wiring harness for the car from painless, I'm thinking of getting one for a 67-68. it's $100 cheaper and I think it'll make wiring in these gauges a much cleaner experience. I can't think of anything I'd be left wanting for with a 67-68 harness on my 70 as long as I get the entire harness. Any thoughts on this or reasons I shouldn't?

Here's a pic of the gauges set in. It's pretty rough and nothing is screwed in yet, but they're all functioning. I'm kind of embarassed with how dusty everything is right now, but the whole interior is a work in progress ATM. Gauges shown are ammeter, temp, speedo, tach, and fuel. Oil pressure is under the hood since it's mechanical, but I left space in case I decide to wire in an electric oil pressure gauge down the road.
