Default White smoke from carb

I have a 66 with a 351w and it ran just fine till one day it wouldn't turn over, when it finally did white smoke came out of the carb, and before i start taking it apart i'd like some ideas as to what it might be to help steer me in the right direction.

That's about the vaguest description of an engine problem I have ever heard.
Does the engine have compression?Spark?Fuel?...When you say it wouldn't crank over do you mean it was seized or just wouldn't start?

how do you know that the smoke came from the carb? were you watching from outside the car while someone else cranked the engine over?

this white smoke came out when the car attempted to start or when the starter finally rotated the crankshaft via the flexplate/flywheel?

Did it smell like gas? Mine was doing that a lot when my timing was off and it was backfiring through the carb.
