Will a 72 Ranchero 9" Work in my Mustang?
I have a 69 Mustang fastback and can get a 9" rear end out of a 72 Ranchero GT. My question is will it fit in my mustang and will I have any problems with width or anything else? Thanks for any help.

The 72 Chero is a 4 link so you will have to remove those brackets and weld on leaf spring perches. The housing is more then likely longer then what you need so it may need narrowing or you will have to change wheels with a different offset. More work then what you may want to do, nowhere near a bolt in option.

Thanks for the reply. I guess it is no what I want to run for sure. I have another 9" rear end but have not clue what it is out of. It has no id tag so I am not sure what to do? What are the best cars to look for a rear end that will work?

This chart should give you an idea of what to be looking for. Just remember there is no replacement for a tape measure, cause you never know if its the original rear end in the car.
