Default 67 Mustang coil springs removal

I'm new to the forum everyone, so please bear with me. What is the safest way to remove the fron coil springs from my 67 Fastback? They scare me to death as I have had some bad experiences in the past.....24 stitches in my finger. So can E-mail me or just post an answer.
Thanks,
409 *****

I use this tool here, i love it. The bottom of it bolts to the spring perch, Its pretty safe and easy to use. Also cant beat the price compared to some other spring compressors

A friend of mine bought a set of spring compressors from auto zone for 30 bucks.
A small price to pay for safety. Or you go the chain route. Jack up the car, put it on a jack stand, use the jack to jack up the drum or rotor, wrap a chain from top to bottom on the spring, release the jack, and boom, it falls right out. But thats the ghetto way to do it.
