brake pedal rebuild options
so i need to rebuild my pedal assy,my clutch is pretty stiff, and my brake pedal does not return on its own anymore, and is grinding on the steering column. so i know there are a few options to go with for rebuild kits. what have you used or what would you suggest. thanks.

I went with a roller kit. Works great replaces the worn out bushings. Think it was $30 for the roller bushings i didnt need a steel rod for my clutch pedal as i had many good ones in the garage.
I also put a lighter spring on my clutch pedal, give a bit heavier pedal feel. I did this because i plan to go to t5 and wont need that big spring. But with a lighter one in their now and the old set up its not bad i hardly notice the difference.

I like the Drake kit. Roller bearings replace the zinc castings in the bracket, and the pedal shaft itself is the inner race. Of course, if your shaft is trashed you need the kit that comes with a new one. First time I used this kit was on a 69 428CJ. Installed the kit, adjusted the linkage, was so smooth and easy a child could have pushed it in.

The brake pedal doesnt get rollers its just the support. The actual pedals still use plastic bushings, and the rod goes through both pedals. I would recommend the upgrade gave me a much better feel, as for how long it will last thats to be determined, i would assume it will last a long time tho.
