Default Pilot bearing's are junk

I replaced the clutch and the pilot bearing, only 1.5 years old, was broken. And, it dinged up the input shaft which I needed to file smooth.

I am putting in a brass bushing instead.

I don't know why they use those and with the old cars that are put away for the winter, there is a great chance they will rust and squeal where the bushing would clean its self after a little spin time.

This was a roller type bearing, it broke and caused issues. Going the simple route, no moving parts.

Bronze pilot bushing.

Hmmm… I have over 100,000 miles on a bronze bushing, no problems so far.

I agree, gotta be something up with your setup or your install. Transmissions gotta be finessed in, not forced in, otherwise the parts don't last (ask me how I know lol).
