GT exhaust trumpets again.

GT exhaust trumpets again.
Hi all!
after looking at a few GTs on ebay I have seen some trumpets only sticking out the width of the trim ring to what looks to be about 2 plus in. of the trumpets sticking out of the valance. I was wondering what is correct because I plan to add these to my car as a next project. BTW there is a nice center console on ebay right now.

RE: GT exhaust trumpets again.
Hi Walt,
From what I've seen, almost the entire trumpet sticks out. I was just at a concours show this weekend. There was a '66 GT and you could see the entire flaired portion right to the round portion of pipe. I didnt' get a chance to ask if it was correct, but it does match some pictures I've seen. Anybody local by you in the MCA?
If it was me, I'd err to the side of being too long. You can always cut it shorter. I will say that they look better (IMO) when they aren't as long though.
Good luck,
