Project Weekend Follow Up w/ Pics
New exhaust (hipo 289 manifold, h pipe, 2.25, dual dynomax vt mufflers)
http://youtu.be/rb1a67w0XMg
New Magnum 500 15x7 on Indy 500 Tires 215/65/15
Stripped the center console insert (before and after)
Thoughts and Issues:
- Exhaust setup sounds great...for everyone outside the car...the dynomax vts do what they say to the point of almost not being loud enough. Outside the car the sound is a little meaner
- CJ Pony's free shipping really saves you a ton when you order a ton of heavy s#*t
- Nick at RF International Muffler and Brake (Stroudsburg, PA) saved me $300 on parts I get to return as he was honest what actually needed to be fixed steering-wise
- Who knew a power drill and a wire brush attachment could do so much for a console. The polished look matches the sliding door below the stereo.
- Had hoped the new exhaust (with gaskets) would cure the tapping sound that sounds like it is behind the stereo and slightly towards the passenger side but it did not. Guess I have valve/rod/lifter issues. Someone mentioned going from 10w30 to 10w40 might help. Sounds is only noticable above 60/65mph. Thoughts?

I can't make it out this coming weekend. I am out in PA a bunch (18301) and I live and garage her during the week in NYC. I dont mind meeting you somewhere. I think after some miles she is breaking in and getting a little meatier outside the car but still quiet inside. No drone issues. Would be interesting to see with a medium cam. I will try to take a better video soon.
