Default Made some quick fiberglass kick panels and new speaker box

since i finally have a week before my next car show, i decided to make some fiberglass kick panels since the ABS ones point the sound to my ankles.I had some old "stock" kick panels so i was able to modify them.

Made my angle to point the sound upward

Cool car! Love the stripes on the roll bar! Any more pics of the car? (at first I thought you had a Zebra interior with the fiberglass kick panels!!)

Thanks James,

I just finished my Flo Fit seats in tan suede/vynil so now the interior will be taken out and im going to get rid of all the orange and black. Im going to try to wrap the doors and dash in Allante vynil for a different look/feel.

Ive done quite a bit of FG work, but i never thought of using a fleece blanket for fiberglass molds. Can i ask why a fleece blanket and does it take more resin to soak it?

Have you ever made a curved box out of FG? I haven't figured out how to mold the curves (balloon or something inside?) yet.

the main reason i use fleece is its CHEAP. Other then that, its very stretchy, but only in one direction, so have to figure out which way needs the most shape. It doesnt take any more resin, you just have to make sure you fully saturate the fabric, then you can either add mat if you need more stregnth.Kick panels do not need to support weight, so fleece is fine.

As far as a speaker box, you just need to have a "frame" to staple the fleece to to get your shape. The better the frame, the less filling and shaping you have to do with bondo
