Sounds like you narrowed it down to something between the torque converter and the trans. The vibration being in nuteral would make me suspect the tq converter. I had a B&M tq converter and the dowels were too big for the flex plate holes. So I drilled the flex plat holes out to fit the dowels. That might be you problem.

Finally got rid of the vibration but now have a new problem. Long story short. Was able to unbolt torque converter , slide it back and run engine. Vibration disappeared . Talked to manufacturer Boss Hog and he said to ship it back and they would rebuild it for $69. I did and he did. Got it back and installed and vibration was gone. Traded out some work for a transmission rebuild. Got the tranny back and installed it. Everything works fine and there is no vibration but the tranny won't go into first gear. The tranny guy does transmissions on the side and he can't get back to the tranny until 24th. He says it probably isn't a big problem and can fix it on the car. Anybody have any ideas why the FMX won't go into first after being rebuilt. It ran fine before it was rebuilt. I had to learn way too much about torque converters to get rid of the vibration. I hope I don't have to learn all that about the FMX transmission. Any opinions why it won't go into first and if it is a big or little job to repair it.

Gosh, didn't someone suggest looking at the torque converter way back early on page one?
