Air cleaner lid was blasted with glass beads, but the other pieces had paint that was too thick for the beads we were using. I ended up using a chemical stripper (strip-x) for the bottom and snorkel. That stuff is a mess!. Anyway, it ended up that the air cleaner had been painted with 2 or 3 layers of paint, and some of it was the original paint. However, there was some rust that was hard to get off.

I just used dupli-color (old ford blue) from the rattle can. You have to lay this stuff down thick and wet, otherwise you will get what looks like a dry coat (lack of luster, looks like overspray).

Yeah, with a check for 50 bucks. Seriously, this is a days work if you want to do it right.

Im gonna sand my valve covers and strip them. I want to paint them right. I want a sandblast gun badly, i like doing stuff like that. I thought of asking you to blast some stuff for me. ( of course for a few dollars):D

I would, but I dont have the time or effort to finish my sandblasting cabinet. The cabinet I used is the one at school, and I have very very limited access to the engineering lab, since I am not an engineering student.

The sandblasting gun I have was 12 bucks. However! Media is about $50-$100, cabinet materials would be about 100, and a compressor good enough for blasting is pretty expensive.
