Console removal question for a 1967 Mustang
I'm in the process of replacing the carpet in my "67" coupe. I have everything out but the console, thus my question. There is an inset screw site on the "T" handle portion of the shifter (it's an automatic), the screw is out and I still can't remove the "T" handle. There is a bolt at the bottom of the shifter that would remove the entire shifter, problem is that it's difficult to get to and looks really difficult to reasemble once the new casrpet is in. I tried to post a pic of the console via the attachment icon but to no avail, is there a trick to posting pics ffrom the computer? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'd really like to get that old carpet out. Thanks

With the set screw pulled out of the shifter handle it should come right off. Pushing the button in and twisting the handle back and forth while pulling up will do the trick.
