Default My 1967 Mustang stalls when after started. PLEASE HELP!!

It stalls when revved. It sounds like it sucks air then stalls.Has rebuilt carb.I have a brand new gas tank, sending unit, fuel line, fuel pump. What do I need to do to fix this? What could be the problem? Thank You

Here is a link to my video on it.

try it again, but slowly, real slow...try to bring the RPM's up. Check to see if the carb squirts gas when you tap the throttle when it's off. This will give you an idea where to look. Check the float level also. Sounds massively lean is all. Just need to find out why.

It sounds like you might have a vacum leak. Check all conections, and the nuts holding the carb to the intake. And.........Welcome to the forum!

Choke maybe? I assume it's open when you hit the gas.

Have you checked the timing?

After you rebuilt the carb, did you adjust the carb idle and fuel mix screws?

Idle is high, and it sounds too lean. Check your fuel mixture. I think stock for a 6cyl 1v is 2 1/2 turns.

I don't mean to hi-jack the thread, but I have a similar question..
When my car has sat for a while (over night, few hours, etc) it's very easy to start if i give it a shot of gas. Also if I just turned it off i can start it easily without any gas (anywhere under 10-15 minutes of sitting). But say i go somewhere to eat and come back out 45 minutes later or so, i give it a shot of gas then she'll start but try to stall on me like she's starving for gas, but if i give it more gas it just tries to die some more until it's been running for 5-10 seconds then it's all good. Why is that? not a huge problem, my girlfriend just laughs when it studders lol

There was a problem on 68 autolitte 2100's of vaopr lock. What i do when I drive my mom's 68 is give it a little gas while starting, it does fine then.

how does 'lean' sound? does the irratic idle give it away?

as to troubleshoot this check on what the others say, but as you say it sounds 'sucking'

make sure that all ports on the carb are blocked. if the engine is running, hold your finger on any unused port. if it's sucking air there: block it

when that's done spray some wd40 around the carb (NOT into the carb)
at all the lines going to carb as well as powerbrake hoses etc if you have them
spray around intake manifold as well. if the idle changes it has a leak there.
Test is only valid if no wd40 gets into the carb
