what size exhaust pipes
I have a 302 with about 330hp 320torque. I have long tube headers and am about to buy a new exhaust system. I am thinking of getting a 2inch system with an hpipe. And using flowmaster 40s. Any suggestions
Also my headers are wrapped and do an excellent job of keeping in the heat. Will I gain anything other than appearance buy switching to ceramic coated headers.

i would think 2" is a little too small. with that much hp you gotta be pushing some air through there! so i would suggest 2.25" that way you keep your back pressure and dont lose tq but will also get better air flow to make some more hp up top.

scince you have long tubes I would go with 2.5" mid pipe and all the way back till the last 16 to 18" then use some 3" tips .
The long tubes provide plenty of torque and your not gonna loose that much by openin up the exhaust to 2.5" if any at all. The 3" tips will deepen the tone as it exists the tail pipes .
