Ok I have checked out my old cam, turns out it is the exact same one I was going to order.
Competition cam 32-221-3. The springs look and measure the exact same as the ones that are in the kit that comes with the cam. But I checked and I do have the multi groove valves, I assume they are the stock style 2 piece ones that are crapola. I just do not have the money for new valves right now, so I am going to get this cam and try it.

What do you think?? The springs installed height meets the manufacturer requirements.
Also does anyone know why my old cam was so worn on 6 lobes?? 6 lobes were badly worn down while the other lobes looked perfect. 1 lobe was almost round it was so worn.

someone probably used old lifters with the new cam...also modern oils are missing the zinc although there are some oils out there like ones for diesels that still have the zinc and also some specialty oils

WOW..I never knew that about the zinc. I will definitely go with a high zinc oil from now on in my mustang. I thought that maybe some bad lifters were possibly the cause. Does the low zinc oils cause lifter problems??

so when I go to do a total rebuild, I need to go back with a roller cam and a nice set of roller rockers. I have an extra motor, I will build it so I can keep on driving the car.

you dont have to go back roller although it is a nice upgrade...just proper break in and id personally use an oil with zinc in t if you go back with the flat tappet
