Paste a link or a picture of the piece. You need a nose designed specifically for a 65/66, if you bought a unit designed for a 67/68 it will not work.

To my knowledge mine is the only 65/66 that uses a longer hood. Notice how the backside where the headlights mount is square, and not slanted like a 67.

If you got the correct kit for a '66 you should not have to modify or change the fenders.

Okay, you have the right part, and you should not need new fenders. What type issues are you having with fitment. Perhaps some pictures of what is not lining up?

My advice would be to loosen all the bolts on the fenders except the very back one, this way you can adjust the fenders wider or narrower to line up as best as possible with the upper nose. Here is a link to where I went about fitting mine up:

im having fitment issues where the original valence would bolt up in the front of the fenders it seems as if the nose is shaped different where it bolts but i will try to loosen the fenders and try fitment, im not sure on how to upload pictures quite yet

Fiberglass is notorious for bad fit, even good fiberglass. Figure the pictures out, someone can show you what to bend/grind/etc to get it working.
