Question Can I rent a 1967 or 1968 fastback?

I'm new to this forum, so hello everybody.
Was trying to find any fastback for rent - and no luck there.
I'm having vacation - going to visit LA and San Francisco.
If you have some info about where I can get it for rent, or i can just rent yours for an hour or so, that would be just awesome. That's a dream car for me, so it would be really cool to try it. We have just a few of them in our country, so it's really hard to find them.
A few words about me - i'm web-programmer.

thanks for any info about subject

I don't think you'll have much luck finding a private owner that will lease their car for a few reasons.

1- a known good deposit for the cost of the car would be required. We're not Hertz, we can't absorb the cost of fixing the car.
2- our insurance is very exclusive for who can drive the car, and how many miles are driven in a year.
3- Normally, renting a vehicle becomes a business proposition, which the car isn't covered for, so the insurance would be voided leaving the owner liable for the car, you and anything/anyone you hit/hurt/kill.
4- Especially true for high powered cars, how do we know you can even drive it safely. Everyone thinks they can handle a high powered car, but few can. Are you used to driving a stick? In cities and hilly terrain?
5- Even if all that is met, we've still put a bunch of time and effort into our cars and have a hard time letting them out for a spin without us, much less a week rental. I don't trust very many people enough to drive mine. Its easier for me to let someone drive the racecar than the mustang.

Advice would be to try to find an exotic car rental and see if they have anything close. Good luck!

What you can rent in CA is modern mustang muscle, maybe even a gt500 or boss302.
Good luck on your visit.
