Default putting a truck 351M in my 73 stang. Any hints??

I have a 351 cleveland/FMX tranny that needs a rebuild. until I can get it done I have a 76 F-100 with a 351M and a C6 tranny. I think my headers and motor mounts will work, I also want to use my HEI distibutor and I have a new Melling HV oil pump, and a double roller timing chain. will all of these work and What all will I have to do to complete this change??
Thanks Sparkie

I wouldn't do it - I think you will have a whopping 150 HP with that setup.

A roller 351 is a great foundation for future builds, and worth sleeving if necessary.

The motor has been rebuilt and has a cam in it and a 4 barrel intake. I am not sure what was done to the motor, but it does not smoke and PO said it does not leak/use oil. It runs out pretty strong in this truck. I am going to take it out of the truck and check the crank, install a HV oil pump. I need to get this car back on the road so time is important, trying to sell/trade this engine/truck for another would take too long. I have a 351 cleveland that I will rebuild or I will get a crate motor to go in the car next year. Right now I need a dependable daily driver.

I figured I would have to shorten the drive shaft, but since I am installing the engine and tranny, I guess the only issues would be shifter cable and motor mounts and power steering pump/bracket. Any help would save me some time and frustration.

i dont think doing a swap with a motor that was never used that needs fabrication to get installed is the quickest way to get a daily driver...probably be cheaper and more reliable to buy a used 4 banger that will sip fuel then build the cleveland up over the rest of next year..

As I think you know the M uses the big block bolt pattern hence the need to use the C6 that came with it. I'm not sure how much wider it is but I'd check to be sure that a) the bell housing will fit in the tunnel and that the b) the Cleveland headers will clear the bell housing.
