Question Date of assembly

I am trying to re-construct a data plate for a 1965 that I purchased which had the door replaced and the data plate is missing, The VIN # is 5R09A235423. Is there any way I can come up with a date manufactured/assembled.

the only thing i can think of is to look at other '65 mustangs with the door plate and use their numbers to zero in on the date of your.

You may be able to get that from a Marti report: http://www.martiauto.com/reports2.cfm

Also, you can infer the date via engine/sheetmetal stampings: http://www.mustangtek.com/FordDateDecoding.html
