Well I got a boat (project) in May and spent most of the summer doing that or cruise ins, so no real progress. Bought a cobra IRS and I'm planning on using my 2011 GT brakes on the front (bought some brembos to replace them) so I guess I've made progress. Also been taking the truck apart to part it out. I've had this car 10 years so guess I'm not in a super rush. I checked with the neighbors and my next plan is to buy one of those temporary garages from HF for the backyard so I can continue paint stripping. Few other projects for the jeep here and there, plus helping a few MF'ers with bolt ons so guess I've kept busy lol. Now deer season is in the way.

Reorganized and bought a press so I finally got one of the hubs off the drum. Kinda messed up a bit though. I ground/cut the tabs off the studs (pretty sure this was the original 1965 drum) and tried to press the whole assembly out, but it shattered the drum. Had to press the studs out individually and then do a little cutting to get the rest of it off the hub. Cleaned it all up and pulled the bearings out. In hindsight i should have pressed the studs out first and then the hub but I was trying to save the studs.

Another battle in the rebuild war... :-)

So Clint, do you have any goals for the rebuild in 2015?

Umm get the boat stuff off the front? Lol, I really need to get the boat together so all of that will be out of the garage. Might get the paint stripped off, if I can get that done then I can start the fun welding part with the IRS and frame strengthening. I could go ahead and start that I guess but the IRS has a lot of nooks and crannies and I'd rather not have to clean all the stripped paint off of it. I've had it 10 years, no real rush.

Nice read!!!!!! Any up-dates?

What kind of boat? I'm kinda in the the same spot. Just got a "67" that I want to do the same thing to. Got a 19' Maxium that I need to do some PM work on. That goes for the same on the "74" ford 3000 tractor.

Keep up the pics. Throw in some of the boat too.

Hump.

Hey Hump

Haven't done much lately. My "new" hubs came in and I put the one on to replace the busted one this weekend. I also mocked up my 2011 gt rims to see how it looked, kind of hard to tell without the fender on though. Also needs some spacers, hitting the control arm, couldn't even get all the studs started.

Haven't worked on this or the boat in a while. My friend got a TJ and we've been working to get it road worthy. Lots of cleaning up to do after the last two owners butchered up half the mods they did. I guess I've cleaned up the gimbal housing and transom plates some, need to paint them.

The boat is a 93 Bayliner classic with the 3.0 mercruiser. Got it and the trailer for 1k, so you can imagine what the Co dition was like. Motor ran without issue once I got a new starteR. Then I just started stripping it down. Now its too cold to glass so it's just waiting for warmer weather. Here is the build thread.
