Default JD's 65 Build Thread "Tons of Pictures" ONGOING

At the begging of the day.

Thought I needed to fix up those front wheels.

A little aircraft stripper followed by Self Etching Primer and Flat black, should do the trick.

Who knew painting the wheel could make such a difference?

So next I needed to work on the brakes, because well there wernt any when I took of the wheel.

The drum was empty so I picked up a great little disc brake kit from a friendly seller that goes by the name mgchevyparts.

Reassembling:

The adapter

Here is the engine bay. Had to switch to a booster to run disc so will pick one up today.

Here is the booster they come in gold so I put a quick coat of black on their.

There is something missing from the engine bay. Hmmmm
How bout that old carb.

Well maybe this new thing I have laying around would get rid of that.

Haven't had time to put it on. Who wants to see my failed dent repair???

Cant decide on whether to go back with the original Caspian Blue and White interior or switch to black I have them both?.!....

Ordered new headlights, bumper, carb, etc what more should I get?

Ripped out the old interior here is the rusty floor pans and old dash. AMERICA!

And one last pic of my side project baby. This is my small project you should see my daily driver 500HP.

Thanks for looking will finish rim painting and brakes tomorrow. Also putting on the Edelbrock tomorrow and starting body work. Need new exhaust. Please tell me what you think. I'm just doing what I love!

Looks like a great base to start with. What's your ultimate plan for the paint color? Not knowing that I vote for the blue and white interior. Always liked it.

The ultimate goal is to sell the Black interior and put the original Capian blue paint job and white interior back in with a little modern twist. First comes brakes, then body work, and since its raining to day Im going to get very little done. Thanks for your input! I really appreciate it.

I really appreciate you guys taking the time to comment. I have the disc brakes installed completely, painted the rest of the wheels, and bled all 4 brakes. I will be sure to upload the rebuilding of rear brakes and finished front brakes pictures tomorrow. I should be installing the Manifold and Carb tomorrow also. If anyone has any tips on replacing manifolds and carb's this is my first time on a mustang so tell me please. Thanks check tomorrow for more pics.

Thanks Uncle Smokey, I really appreciate opinions because I like knowing what the majority of people think. I have a cool before and after picture I thought I would share with you guys.

This is the first day that I bought the car. (Engine Shot)

And this is today 2/25 after I finished installing the new intake manifold. It has come a long way since I bought it about a month ago!!! I think its turning out to be exactly how I pictured it and I couldnt of done it without the help of all the great members on this forum.

Sorry for Waiting so long to update. Had a problem with the intake manifold and switched to a black Performer RPM from Edelbrock. Other upgrade was finishing disc brake system with the Dual Bowl master cylinder and a Baer Proportioning Valve. Check it out!

Did you do disc brakes on all four or just the front? Where did you get the kit and how much $$$?

Need to get rid of my four drums pretty bad...
