hi,

i have a mustang 68 fastback. i just strip my car for a full restoration. Originally my car come with a brake & clutch pedal support for a 4 wheel drums brake !

did i need to change my pedal support & my brake pedal to put some front disc brake with a brake booster ?

No, it works with disc as well.

What does matter is the m/c you uses, and the pushrod for the m/c.

Oki..one guys told me this ; what do you think ;

"The disc brake pedals are longer than the drum brake pedals and the mounting points are different. The correct brake pedal feel will not be obtained with a drum brake pedal "

To my knowledge, the only thing that's different is the little "disc brake" emblem on the factory disc brake pedal.

Plenty of us (myself included) have swapped to factory disc brakes with no problems. I even went the manual disc route, and I'm perfectly happy with the result.

You were told wrong.

The 67-73 pedals have nothing to do with whether the car has discs or drums. (On 64-66 cars, there was no difference whatsoever, all cars used the same brake pedals.)

The POWER brake pedal is longer, and mounts at the hole provided in your pedal bracket, at the top. This is true whether the car was a 200 six with power drums, or a 428 CobraJet with power discs. Same pedal. These pedals are available new.

Disc brakes came only as power boost, which has probably given rise to this misconception.

You can certainly convert a Mustang to manual disc, and leave the stock manual drum pedal in the car. Works perfectly, and is preferred by many performance enthusiasts.

Their is a difference between the pedals depending on if it's power brakes or manual. The manual has a higher pivot point.
