Yes, and what if a V8 had a 6 put in it?

.
hey rainymorning...perhaps in the interest of not offending anyone at all by putting boss 302 stickers on a non boss 302 car, you might consider appeasing potential "clone" haters by simply building it to one of the less offensive styles below . . i kinda like the first one . . i think it has an electric ladder that automatically extends when you push the remote control button.

Great point! Would you then remove the GT badges?

well it looks like some might think so and they might also think that the v8 badges should be removed and replaced with the proper 6 cyl badges.

now if you had a v8 like a boss or hi po car or even a stroker engine and you put 6 cylinder badges on it, is that just as bad?

some others might then say that the owner is trying to be deceptive so he can sucker people into races and blow their unsuspecting doors off, therefore a third option is to simply remove all engine designations but then someone will surely complain because it has now been customized.

also, there are many boss 302;s running around with non boss engines because the orig blew up and the owner doesn't have $12,000.00 to buy and build another real boss engine so should he then remove the boss 302 stickers from his car?

as cyprusmustang so eloquently put it:

Wait, no more sleepers?

Just for clarity - I'm in the "My car, my way" camp.

You wanna put mustang badges on your corolla? Cool with me!

Sleepers or cars with subtle customization are the best.

I wouldn't say that just because Chip Foose does something, that makes it alright. His cars are almost always overdone and tacky.

Here is the criteria I use when deciding if I should or should not do something similar to what you are asking:

1. If I do this, will I be able to look at myself in the mirror when I shave?

2. Are any of the people who may be offended giving me any money or poon?

3. If the answer to #2 is 'NO', then see #1.

this reminds me of a track I raced at. Our weight was decided by engine cubic inches. And we had to have it lettered on the hood for the tech guy. So I labeled mine as a 286ci and was really running 410 stroker... got away with it for 1/2 the season until after the 5th win they actually checked my displacement..

So do what you want. Enjoy your car, but be honest if someone asks you. And if they get all shirty with you they can kiss a**.
