Default 1980 Mustang

My wife was driving the car today and went over a speed bump and the car shut off. It did start back up right away. Yes it has plenty of gas. Any ideas of what could have caused this?

Absolutely. Very common problem.

In the trunk, I believe on the right side near the trunk lid, is a small panel that contains the inertia switch that kills the fuel pump in an accident. Press the button on the switch to reset it, then the car should start right up.
