Default Original Owner 1970 Mustang

I am the original owner of a 1970 Mustang convertible that I intend to sell. I am looking for help from the forum in establishing a fair price for its sale. The car is in good condition, is driveable and has approximately 103,000 miles on it. It has the original six cylinder 250 cu. in. engine with automatic transmission. It has a blue exterior and interior (original colors)with a white convertible top. Work that has been done over the years includes floor pan replacement & rustproofing, rust and dent repair on doors and quarter panels, complete refinish and clear coat, dashboard and interior carpeting replacement, shock and brake replacement, exhaust manifold replacement, gas tank replacement, water and fuel pump replacement. This was my wife's first car and has been kept in a dry garage for most of its life. Additional work required includes some front seat repair/replacement (some tears on driver side) and some miscellaneous exterior trim work (antenna, molding, etc.). Please comment on what I might expect as a reasonable price range.

A convertible is still desirable even if it's a 6 cylinder. Go to NADA or Kelly Blue Book and plug in the information about your car with an accurate description of condition and options. There will be a deduct for 6 cylinder but it will give you a good starting point. Go from there.

.
If the body is very straight and the paint was a quality job and still looks nice and there is no other rust, then without seeing photos, i think you might get up to $10k from someone.

Those guides are often grossly inaccurate . . NADA lists the average value for a 1970 6 cyl Mustang as $22,720.00 which is laughable . . One of those wouldn't bring that price even it was gold plated.

I'd fix that ripped driver's seat first.

Well worth the cost when selling a car.

Not sure where you live but late spring, early summer would be best time to try and sell a convertible.

Car looks good there. Best of luck to you.

Why is it that it seem that all of the trunks rust or rot out in the front right corner. Mind got the same rust spot. :-(
