I am new here and have a question about the wiper switch. I have a 1970 mustang and the wiper switch started to act up. It wouldn't always stay in. One day I pushed it back in after it popped off and the switch fell off behind the dash. It is just hanging there. Will it work if I push it back on? Is there a spring that fell off that I would need to push back on? Sorry if I posted this in the incorrect section, as I said, I am new. Thank you.

The bakelite housing at the back of the switch may have come apart. If you find all the guts, they can be reassembled and re-crimped.

Do the parts just fit in easily or is there a certain way they have to go? Also, how do I crimp it shut effectively so I won't have this problem again?

It is a mini jigsaw puzzle and it is easy to lose parts. It is also easy to brake the housing when re-crimping. If it is the switch, replacing is easier.
