'66 Coupe, 200ci carb replacement options
Went looking through search for similar topics, didn't really find anything.
I have a '66 Mustang Coupe with the 200ci, inline 6 equipped with an Autolite 1100 carb. I recently replaced the battery, then the fuel pump, and now it seems I need to replace the carburetor. First it wasn't pumping -any- gas, and now the carb is leaking at the seams. Haha.
Pretty much, I'm replacing/rebuilding the carb.
So, my question is: what should I do?
Get a rebuild kit?
Have it sent off to get rebuilt, and hopefully have them fix the 1100's shortcomings?
Buy an already rebuilt/tweaked 1100?
Or should I just replace it with a different carb altogether?
Kind of want this option, but I have no clue what other options there are.
Read around, got confused, need help finding my shirt.
I've tussled with the carb before, and it suited just fine despite all the annoying hesitation and cold-cold-start issues. Thinking about it now, I kind of just wanna replace it entirely with something that fixes the inherent issues, but I don't even know where to look or what to look for...
