You didn't do the only test I asked you to do. with a small wire jump from the "+" post on the battery to the small terminal marked "S" on the solenoid. That will determine if you have a primary voltage problem or a start circuit problem.

hi I’m having the same issue as OP and have done the test and it does bump from battery + to S. where is the best place to start looking after establishing this?

thanks for any help
OK if you have a test light,if you trace back, solinoid "S" terminal will have no power when you hit the key to start, you established that already by jumping it out.. If you have an automatic the next switch point is the Neutral safety switch/ backup light switch on the trans mission, see if there is power there when you bump the key. From there it comes from they ignition switch. If you don't have a simple test light , buy one, it will pay for itself first day.

thanks for the help! Turned out to be at the neutral safety switch plug where the garage had bypassed it when I had it swapped to a T5 the connections on the bypass wire were very loose and had fallen out. All sorted now thanks for the help
