Reminds me of my GMC, the drivers side floor pan had fiberglass covering a rust hole and bondo over top of that.

Lots of work for a 200. Probably turn on the AC, and the old Beetles would pass you by. With all that work you might think of dropping in a 302. Lots of them in the yards. With a copper piece in the cooling system, it doesn't appear that you are interested in keeping numbers matching. Our 302 came out of a '87 Bronco. They all fit with little changes, like the oil pan to move the sump forward.
Good luck and get it back on the road.

None of the v8s I've had have ever idled and driven as smoothly as my 200 I6 did.

I had a little I6 in a 65 and it purred like a sewing machine and got damn near 30 miles to the gallon.

If you have bad to say about a 170 or 200, you don't have a clue. They are a damn nice little engine. I had a '60 falcon with a 144-3 speed that just didn't have enough power, may have been OK with a 4 speed, I had a 64 with a 170, damn nice engine, no problems, and a '66 Comet with a 200 also no problems and ran super for many years, I believe I put 300K on that one before the body rotted out.

And a fun fact, myself and my head mechanic swapped out a head on a 250 in a '69 stang complete and running in 20 minutes on a bet.

We use to do complete clutch jobs on '60 VW's, including removal and replacement of the engine in 30 minutes at the post auto shop, but I don't think I want to drive one of those 40 hp wonders on today's roads.
Nothing wrong with a 6. That Chrysler slant six was probably one of the best designed engine ever. But, if you are going to put that much work into a 'Stang might as well enjoy some wheel spin.

you can take a magnet and stick it around the body. it may have a ton of bondo in it by the looks of the floors. it looks like a back east car or one that lived near the ocean.
