Default Revamping a 65 stang

Wow, it has been a while since Ive logged on here.

I have found myself with a 65 stang Automatic with the bigger V8 engine (I sold my 08 GT years ago) and I thought no better place to ask for advice and tips to rebuild it than on here as many of you inspired and helped me with my GT build. I will post a list of mods once received from the previous owner.

I have attached pictures of the car. My plans so far are to repaint exterior, replace interior upholstery, *****/buttons/handles/steering/radio.

My first major question is the A/C. It will be a daily driver for short distances (15-20 miles a day) and I need the best A/C which will keep the car cool. I have shortlisted many parts on CJPony but if there is a crowd favourite on here, I must know!

Also, I have attached pics of the mechanical work required.

My expertise is as good as none and I intend to make the car look as good as new at the soonest with your help! Any suggestions on parts to make this as sturdy and reliable as possible would be appreciated.

Nice. Those under dash AC systems with the old York compressors are beasts! I love them. I had that setup in my 64 Fairlane and it blew 37 out of the vents and kept the entire cabin nice and chilled even on the hottest day in Texas or Florida.

Wow, that list looks like a total rebuild. Hope you have the $$$. With all those seals leaking, your driveway won't need to be resealed in the next decade. Are you sure it needs all that? Since you are not doing it yourself, I would get a second opinion. Sometimes doing work not required just causes more problems.

I forgot to say that the car looks mighty fine to me. It will outlast that Range Rover if the Rover is like the ones I have had.

you should have a compression test or leak down test done before doing the engine work.

if you replace the front seal, check the cam chain. it is probably stretched and needs new gears and a chain. if it has a plastic top gear, replace the timing set.

unless it has a big rad and good rad fan, you will likely need to upgrade the cooling system so it does not run hot with the ac on in 100 + temps.
